The pear-shaped ewer, shallow domed cover and octagonal deep basin all brightly enamelled and gilt with a gnarled prunus branch beside a tree peony spray, archaistic vessels, scholar's utensils, and further fruit and flower sprays, all within an unusual wide sepia border with gilt scrolling foliage and reserved with gilt and iron-red flower heads, basin cracked
