Lot Essay

This bust can be closely compared to another bust of an angel in Berlin, published by Frida Schottmüller and attributed by her to Florence in the late 15th century (Die Italienischen und Spanischen Bildwerke der Renaissance und des Barocks in Marmor, Ton, Hols und Stuck, Berlin, 1913, no. 216, pp. 89-90).
