Lot Essay

Alibhai Mulla Jeevanjee, a Parsi trader, challenged Colonialism and promoted Equal Rights in Kenya. At the completion of the East African Railway in 1902, he established in Mombasa the newspaper the African Standard (now called the East African Standard), one of Africa's oldest, continuously published newspapers.
