Lot Essay

Born at the chateau Roques (Périgord), Christophe de Beaumont (1703-1781), who became Archbishop of Paris in 1746, received a complete service with these arms in 1750. It was a gift from the Jesuits, to thank him for speaking favourably of them to Louis XV.
