Lot Essay

Characteristics which are peculiarly Irish are the continuous sideboards which make the shelves integral to the dresser base; the pierced fretwork to the frieze and the lobed side sections of the base.
This dresser has been hand-cleaned of a layer of modern green paint to reveal its original paint scheme.
