Late 17th century
Of unusual size, with hinged lid and front with moulded line detail and gouged edging, the sides extending to feet
26in. (66cm.) high, 82½in. (210cm.) long, 17in. (43cm.) deep

Provenance
Burnley House, Hutton-le-Hole.
In the early 20th century Burnley House was lived in by Mr and Mrs Burnley who were local benefactors and wealthy mill owners; by repute this chest was used to store expensive bolts of silk.
