A Commonwealth bronze mortar
By William Oldfield of Nottingham
The body cast with the date 1653 and a shield-shaped device featuring stylised fleur-de-lis, the mortar with four loop handles, two rounded the other two of flat reeded form
7 9/16in. (19.2cm.) diameter; 6in. (15.2cm.) high;
and a double ended bronze pestle, probably 18th century -- 10in. (25.4cm.) long (2)
