An Italian bronze mortar
Probably Padua, mid 16th century
The rim with acanthus banding, the body with the figure of St.John The Baptist, opposed to the reverse by another figure, possibly Anthony of Padua with the infant Christ in his arms, two further larger acanthus leaves and four rosettes
