Lot Essay

Panels of this type were once employed in the construction of tomb chambers. Several in the Georges Halphen Collection share technical similarities and constitute of large bricks of hollow type which were moulded, stamped and decorated on one to four sides. The second type was made of stone and decorated with a design in low relief.
