Tibble exhibited at Tooth's Gallery, his show there in 1946, featuring figures in interiors in the manner of Degas and Vuillard, prompted Raymond Mortimer to place him 'in the front rank of living English painters' (see D. Buckman, The Dictionary of Artists in Britain since 1945, Bristol, 1998, p. 1191).
