A Japanese silvered lacquer circular box and cover
decorated in hiramakie with a character and four vajras, the interior carved and gilt with two deities seated on the back of an elephant and a karashishi on lotus-petal bases, one figure holding a lotus spray and the other a sword, on cell-pattern grounds -- 2.3/.4in (7cm) diam, (chips to rims and to exterior lacquer).
