This work was commissioned from the artist in January 1995 for the Hotel Triton Contemporary Art fair in San Francisco. The artist created three different pieces for the mezzaine of the hotel. One piece was donated to the Achenbach Foundation, Fine Arts Museum San Francisco, one by a private collector, and this piece is the third.
