the ornately carved barrelled lid inscribed HOPE with cribbage holes running either side, opening to a slide painted with remnants of ship's rigging and flags and small portrait entitled lord nelson, with bone-lined wood-bottomed chamber, supported by carved legs with skirting between -- 2¾ x 9½in. (7 x 24cm.)
