A WELL-PRESENTED SCALE MODEL OF A BRIG (1820)
with masts, yards, boom, standing and running rigging, dolphin striker, simple figurehead, anchors, catheads, bitts, belaying rails and pins, sail winch, covered hold, bilge pump, companionway, deck light, tiller, helm, ship's boat swung out on davits, another in stern davits and other details. The planked and pinned hull finished in black, white, red and varnish is set in a painted wooden sea towing one of her boats, legend, glazed cover. Measurements overall -- 21 x 24in. (53 x 61cm.)
