A pair of famille rose armorial plates, Jiaqing, circa 1810
decorated with central roundels of an eagle above the initial 'S' beneath the motto 'Spero Meliora', within borders panels of figures in landscapes, birds, goats and fish -- 9¾in. (24.7cms) diam; and a crested octagonal plate painted and gilt with a stag within a floral roundel within bands of spearhead and scattered flower stems -- 8½in. (21.5cms) wide.
