A fan, finely painted with three couples and a flock of sheep, the reserves painted with shells, flowers and blackberries, the verso with a couple in a pastoral setting, the mother-of-pearl sticks carved, pierced and gilt with figures and putti--10½in. (26.5cm.), French, circa 1750
