A kesa (priest's robe), composed of thirteen bands of silk brocade, woven in coloured silks and metal thread with chequered and honeycomb patches and scattered with mon motifs--44 x 73in. (112 x 186cm.), Japanese, late 19th century; a composite panel of ivory silk kinran, woven in gilt paper strip with dragon roundels and pale green cloud bands--70 x 14½in. (180 x 37cm.), probably 18th century; and a joined panel of coral silk kinran, woven in gilt paper strip with dragon roundels against a key-fret ground--66 x 32in. (168 x 164cm.) (3)
