Chancery 4° (189 x 128mm). Two somewhat later initials in magenta ink. (Some spotting.) Modern calf, earlier blue edges, linen box. Provenance: dated in Italian 22 July 1572 at end.
Second edition, previously considered the first (variant a, with 32 lines on the first page) and issued immediately after it. Buonaccorsi issued copies of this edition using the final 1½ sheets of his first edition, which he apparently had printed off in greater number in anticipation of demand for it. Other copies were issued in which the final sheets had been re-set as well, although mis-dated '1485'. (See Ridolfi, Vita di Girolamo Savonarola II, 151-151).
