EDWARD VI, King of England (1547-1553). Document, Letters Patent including an initial letter portrait of the King, the portrait in brown ink and wash, depicting the King enthroned under a canopy within a flourishing strapwork border, engrossed historiated majuscules in first line, interspersed with sprays of foliage and flowers, and the royal arms, on vellum, three membranes, the first two 560 x 840 mm, the third 440 x 840 mm, the text in a fine chancery hand in brown ink within a grid finely ruled in red, fragment of the Great Seal (chipped and worn) attached by green and white plaited laces, Westminster, 23 August 1547 (contemporary and later endorsements, dust-stained on verso of 1st membrane, and on 3rd).

Letters Patent for a grant to Sir Walter Hendle [Hendley] and his wife, Margery, in fulfilment of Henry VIII's will and an indenture in consideration of the manor of Snave alias le Courte de Wyke in Kent, and other lands, and for £7-11-11. paid to the Treasurer of Augmentations, together with other lands at Northelade, Lydd and elsewhere.
