Letter signed ('James R') to the Justice Treasurer and his deputy and clerks, Stirling, 25 February 1529[30], 17 lines written in a secretary hand, signed at the foot, traces of red wax seal, one page, 190 x 210 mm, endorsement and later annotation on verso, (soiled, slightly worn in lower edge, a few tiny splits in folds, traces of mount on verso).
An order to the recipients to cease proceedings against William Livingstone of Kilsyth, to 'dicist & ceise of all calli[n]g p[ro]cedi[n]g or adjurnei[n]g' against him and his tenants and household, 'his tena[n]tis or s[er]vandis or ony of yai[m] in o' approcha[n]d justiceair of Du[n]bartane for q[uhat]su[m]ever actionis or crymes yai be delaitit of bot yt ye cloise y[ou]r dittays unto o[u]r nyxt justiceaire of striveli[n]g'.
