of oval form, engraved with a frieze of fluting and bright-cut with drapery, floral and foliate swags and various body bands, the domed hinged cover with vase-shaped finial, the front later-applied with a shield-shaped cartouche, the reverse engraved with a crest within a shield-shaped cartouche, George Smith & Thomas Hayter, London 1796 - 5¼in.
