Of roemer form, the cylindrical stem chased with simulated prunts, the bowl engraved with inscription
3¼in. (8.2cm.) high
3oz. (103gr.)
The inscription reads EPHESER AM 4 CAP 79 VER. LASSET KEIN FAUL GESCHWETZ AUS EWEPREM MUNDE GEHEN SUNDERN WAS NUTZLICH ZUR BESSERUNG IST which may be translated as 'Old Testament, Chapter 4, Verse 79, Do not let idle talk come out of your mouths, but what is useful for improvement.'
