A German silver-gilt double salt-cellar
Unmarked, late 16th century
Lozenge shaped and on four scroll feet with grotesque mask finials, with two hemispherical bowls, cast and chased with bearded male and female masks with scrolls between, engraved beneath with the initials ML:W G:T and the date 1639, one leg with later Graz control mark
