Rectangular white enamel on copper box, the slightly domed cover painted with a scène galante of lovers reading a book, the four side walls and base with Rococo-beauties and foliage, the inside of the lid with a lady standing in front of a seated guitar player, reeded gilt-metal mounts with slightly raised wavy thumbpiece, the lid with secret cover opening to display two erotic scenes, that on the upper lid depicting two chimney-sweepers in an elegant interior servicing an indecent lady reclining in a green-upholstered chair and exposing herself, one sweeper standing up and proudly displaying his tools, the other one kneeling and trying to shave the lady, the lower lid depicting a gentleman pants half down mistaking a half-naked lady for a wheel-barrow
