by Jean George (fl. 1752-1765), signed on the flange '·GEORGE·A·PARIS·', Paris, 1759/1760, with the charge and discharge marks of Eloy Brichard 1756-1762, struck with inventory no. 304, later struck with two French post-1864 import marks for gold
Large rectangular box, the burnished gold cover, four sides and base boldy chased in four-colour gold with flowersprays on a horizontally reeded ground, framed by fluted c-scrolls interspersed with flowers and foliage
