A SWISS SPLIT-PEARL SET AND ENAMELLED GOLD SNUFF-BOX FOR THE ORIENTAL MARKET
Geneva, circa 1820/1830, with a rubbed mark
Flattened oval box with tapering concave sides, the slightly raised lid enamelled with a fruit still life within blue and black enamelled taille d'épargne border applied with split-pearl clusters, the base enamelled in translucent red on a wavy reeded guilloché ground and similarly bordered in black and blue enamel, the sides enamelled in translucent orange and opaque blue with a basketweave pattern
