The model of this bronze can be compared to a Rhinoceros mantel clock, inscribed Weeks's Museum, circa 1800, sold at Sotheby's, New York, October 25, 2002, lot 1256, the clock had a French case and movement and was probably accquired by Thomas Weeks to be sold as a 'curiosity'.
