Lot Essay

An 18th century pair of chenets of this very model, from the Château de Hautefort was exhibited in the Exposition de l'Art Français au XVIIIe Siècle, Exhibition Catalogue, Charlottenburg Palace, Copenhagen 1935. Another 18th century pair is at the J. Paul Getty Museum, G. Wilson, Decorative Arts in the J. Paul Getty Museum, Malibu, 1977, p. 28. And a third pair is in a New York private collection.
