Of lobed circular form, the slightly domed cover with U-shaped loop finial painted in underglaze-blue, iron-red, green, yellow and gilt with a vibrant version of the Imari palette, with panels of mons, prunus blossom and other flowers alternating with brocade-patterns, the cover with gilt rim
11¼ in. (28.5 cm.) diam.

This pattern, part of the rare group of wares produced by Chelsea that #arry underglaze-blue decoration, were as a result often marked with a blue anchor.
