Lot Essay

Field Marshal Alexander of Tunis (1891-1969) began a long military career during the first world war. It is with second world war that he rose to prominence, partly as a result of his appointment as the head of the Middle Eastern Command. Alexander acted as the Governor General of Canada from 1946-1952.
