An Edwardian Silver Freedom Casket
Mark of William Mammatt & Son, Sheffield, 1901
the sides of the oblong casket robustly decorated with foliate scroll motifs on a textured ground, centring an engraved building on one side and the inscription Presented by The City of Dundee to Sir William Ogilvy Dalgleigh Bart With It's Freedom 2nd January 1902, the conforming detachable cover with the arms of Dundee, supported on four paw feet, the inside silk lined - 30cm. (11 7/8in.) long.
