With curved blade double-edged for last 12in. and etched with foliate decoration and other devices but without royal arms or royal cypher (etching rubbed, some pitting), mameluke hilt with acanthus-leaf decoration to crosspiece, stained ivory grips (both slightly chipped), and steel scabbard with ornamental gilt-metal ring-bands each in the form of a rose on a sunburst, and gilt chape (scabbard stained and surface pitted, gilding rubbed), together with a silver carrying-chain
