Paris hallmarks for high-grade silver, and medium guarantee for 1809-1819
With slender blade of hollow triangular section, the hilt with oval shell, urn-shaped pommel, and silver grip, parts overlaid and parts pierced with faceted diamond-shaped and domed studs, in associated steel-mounted leather-covered scabbard with associated silver chape, the mouth-locket inscribed 'Foster, St. James's Str. Sword Cutler to his Majesty the Prince of Wales & Duke of York'
