The first with tapering flattened blade etched on each face of the forte with scrollwork, a running fox, and the bladesmith's signature 'Anthonÿ van de Puttelaar Mr. Swaardveger tot Amsterdam' (etching worn), the gilt-bronze hilt (distorted) boldly cast and chased in relief with rococo designs involving insects and chinamen, and formed of only two parts, the double-shell guard and the remaining portions of the hilt including the grip and pommel (some wear to gilding); the second with slender blade of stiff diamond section (surface pitted) with brass-inlaid inscription 'Vive Le Roi' on each face of the flattened ricasso, the hilt with double-shell guard (loose) pierced and chased with scrollwork around diamond-shaped panels enclosing putti, and decorated throughout with beadwork in relief, the pommel with birds, and the quillon-block with further putti, the grip bound with plaited copper wire
