TWO ENGLISH SMALL-SWORDS WITH CUT-STEEL HILTS
The first late 18th Century, the second early 19th Century
The first with slender blade of hollow triangular section (rust-patinated), blued etched and gilt with foliated scrollwork on each face of the forte, the hilt (rusted) of typical neo-Classical design, and with pierced shell, the knuckle-guard replaced by a string of cut-steel beads (some missing, some detached), together with a sword-knot of silver galloon; the second with etched blade (rusted), the russet steel hilt without knuckle-guard
