Dated 1855
Entirely of bronze, of stepped tapering form with a single astragal to the rear of the swelling muzzle, faceted lifting handles, and globular cascabel, the chase engraved with the name 'L'Alma' on a ribbon, the first reinforce with crowned 'N' within a laurel wreath (for the Emperor Napoleon III), and the base ring with the inscription 'Pièce De 12 Reduite Au 5e Par Leger Chef Armurier.', fitted with an elevating back-sight, and stamped with the number '306' on the underside, the ends of the trunnious inscribed respectively '6 Kos' and '9e. D'Artle'
