A 22-BORE TURKISH MIQUELET-LOCK RIFLE
Circa 1800
With swamped twist octagonal sighted barrel retained by three engraved brass bands, cut with nine grooves, and with encrusted silver decoration at the muzzle and breech (some wear), silver-encrusted double-aperture standing back-sight, scroll engraved tang, characteristic lock with silver-encrusted decoration (sear-spring broken), figured dark walnut full stock (chipped, minor bruising, fore-end tip defective) decorated with brass roundels and nails, and on the faceted butt with pierced panels of white horn and bands of white and green-stained horn (minor losses), brass-inlaid green-stained horn fore-end cap (defective), iron button trigger, and original iron-tipped ramrod (iron parts rust-patinated, scattered surface pitting)
