A 140-BORE PERCUSSION BOX-LOCK TURN-OVER PISTOL, AND ANOTHER OF 100-BORE
The first by Collins, London, circa 1840, the second by Alden & Smith, No. 992, circa 1835
The first with turn-off barrels, signed scroll engraved action, engraved safety-catch, folding trigger, and finely chequered figured walnut butt with silver escutcheon and engraved silver pommel, London proof marks; the second similar, but with fixed barrels and without pommel (each pistol with scattered minor surface pitting)
