ASTAIRE, Fred (1899-1987). One typed letter signed ("Fred Astaire") to A.C. Spectorsky, Beverly Hills, California, 1961. Together 1 page, 4to, on private stationary, with a carbon response from A.C. Spectorsky. Astaire is expressing his amazement that PLayboy used a picture of him holding a glass a champagne in his hand without his consent.
After explaining how he declined having his picture in Playboy three times, Astaire writes: " Perhaps you can understand now why I am amazed at the use of the photograph of me with a glass of champagne in my hand "Toasting the New Year." Obviously there is no harm done but I just want to point out to you that I really do not happen to like champagne."
