EIGHT ROMAN AND BYZANTINE GOLD FINGER RINGS
Circa 1st-5th Century A.D.
Including one with an openwork hoop and an oval bezel set with carnelian engraved with a trophy between cornucopia; one with a silver hoop joined to a gold disk-shaped bezel; one with a plain hoop, round in section, with volutes where it joins the oval bezel, its edge with a fringe of twisted wire, set with a carnelian engraved with a theater mask; one with a plain flat hoop, the bezel set with a carnelian engraved with a fish; two with plain flat hoops, the bezel of each engraved with grapes and a palm branch, with a projecting loop on each, perhaps once joined together by a chain; one with a plain flat hoop joined to a disk-shaped bezel; and one with a hoop of beaded wire joined to a box-shaped bezel set with green glass
