Kerma C-Group, Circa 2050-1850 B.C.
Handmade of black fabric and hemispherical in form, the interior smoothed with the fingers, the exterior ornamented by incision in four equal segments, two with hatched bands of concentric diamonds alternating with burnished bands, and two with angled hatched bands alternating with burnished bands, a burnished band at the rim topped with impressed triangles which, together with the incision below, is filled with white pigment
