A GREEK BRONZE CORSLET
Archaic Period, Circa Late 7th-Early 6th Century B.C.
Including the front and rear plates, formed of hammered sheet, anatomical in form with details in relief, including the curving ridge outlining the pectoral muscles and the arching contours of the lower rib cage, a shallow groove indicating the linea alba on the breastplate, the shoulder blades outlined by a ridge and a shallow groove down the center of the lower back on the backplate, the lower rim flaring, the edges preserving traces of iron fastenings for attachment
