A ROMAN MARBLE FIGURE OF NIKE
Circa 1st-2nd Century A.D.
The winged goddess alighting with her right foot atop a small sphere, her chiton draped over her left shoulder, revealing her right breast and splaying up her right leg, her wings pulled back, a long palm branch in her left hand, resting on her shoulder, her center-parted hair pulled up in a top-knot and back in a chignon, on an integral hemispherical plinth inscribed on the front for Nike in Greek reading, PAPIAS EKATE NIKEN UPEREAUTOU
