A BYZANTINE BRONZE WEIGHT
Circa 4th-5th Century A.D.
Square in form, incised on one side with two haloed imperial figures on horseback, each identically portrayed, moving to the right, clad in the costume of a Roman warrior, their mantles billowing behind, each raising his right arm with a spear, pursuing a lion that leaps to the right, symbols in the lower left corner for libra, the Roman unit of weight, and A, signifying that it is a 1 unit weight
