Un paysage avec une ville fortifiée sur une colline, un estuaire dans le fond

Dr. Laura Laureati confirme l'attribution du présent dessin sur base d'une photographie et le date autour de 1720, en comparant la compostion à celle d'un tableau conservé à la Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Antica à Rome (G. Briganti et L. Laureati, Gaspar van Wittel, Milan, 1996, no. 417). Les deux compositions sont très proches, et comportent au premier plan les mêmes moines vus de dos au premier plan.

Dr. Laura Laureati has confirmed the attribution of the present drawing on the basis of a photograph. Dr. Laureati suggests a date circa 1720 and draws comparisons with a composition now in Rome.
