A Meissen figure of a wheelwright from the Craftsmen series Circa 1750, blue crossed swords mark to back of base
Modelled by J.J. Kändler and P. Reinicke, wearing a white shirt and waistcoat, puce breeches and a pale-brown apron, working a wheel-hub resting on a tree-stump, a small wheel and other parts at his feet, on a circular high mound base moulded with puce scrolls and applied with flowers and foliage
