A Meissen coffee cup and saucer
Circa 1745, blue crossed swords marks, Pressnummer 3 to cup and impressed D (?) to saucer
Each painted after Rugendas with battle scenes, the cup with wishbone handle and ozier-moulded border, painted with scattered Holzschnitt Blumen and a battle scene, within a shaped oval pierced gilt and dark-brown cartouche with panels of line, diaper and scale ornament, the saucer painted with a similar cartouche (shallow chip to exterior of cup, minute rubbing to gilding)
