A large Potschappel (Carl Thieme) armorial vase, cover and stand and a simulated rosewood plinth
Circa 1890, blue crossed swords and T mark
The two-handled waisted vase moulded to the lower part with an escutcheon with the coats-of-arms of Saxony and Poland beneath a crown held by a putto beneath Watteauesque vignettes, the branch handles applied with luxuriant flowers and foliage, the gadrooned spirally-moulded socle with further flowers and foliage, birds and insects, the scroll-footed base similarly decorated, the tall spirally-gadrooned cover with a further escutcheon and royal arms flanked by putti and a crown (chips and losses), the wood plinth carved with a cherub's head beneath a reeded frieze (part of frieze lacking)
The vase, cover and stand 40¾ in. (103.5 cm.) high, the wood plinth 30¼ in. (77 cm.) high
