The present bronze figure corresponds extremely closely to another example of the same composition in the Skulpturensammlung of the Staatliche Museen in Berlin (Planiscig and Bode, locs. cit.). That bronze has been associated with a bronze male figure in a similar pose, (an example of which is in the Frick Museum in New York, loc, cit.), which has been attributed in the past to Francesco de Sant' Agata, but which is currently thought to be Venetian, early 16th century.
