Contemporary roan decorated in blind, metal clasp, gilt edges (lightly rubbed, clasp detached). Bondy Miniature Books p.72: "In about 1880 the London toy firm of W. H. Cremer, Junr. issued a small publicity volume for children ... This miniature curiosity ..." The small albumen prints - Bondy calls for a total of 14 - depict a doll engaged in various activities in a variety of settings with toys and miniature furniture, captioned variously, "Dolly at Dinner," "Dolly at a Fancy Ball," "Dolly's Exhibition Bedstead," "Dolly's Wash Stand," "Dolly's Toy Shop," and "Dolly's Baby can just say Papa & Mama!!" (possibly a reference to a prototype talking doll). SCARCE.
